THE  PATIENT , WHO  SUFFERED  SEVERE  HEAD  TRAUMA , WAS  FLOWN
 TO  THE  UNIVERSITY  OF  LOUISVILLE  TRAUMA  CENTER
THE  PATIENT  WAS  REMOVED  AWAITING  THE  ARRIVAL  OF  STAT  CARE
PERSONNEL  FROM  BOTH  COMPANIES  REMOVED  THE  
ROOF , DOOR , AND  PERFORMED  A  DASH  RAISE .
PERSONNEL  FROM  RESCUE  1  AND  ENGINE  11  WORKED  RAPIDLY  
TO EXTRICATE  THE  VICTIM  FROM  THE  WRECKAGE .
EMS  ADVISED  TO  START  STAT  CARE  AIR  AMBULANCE  WHILE  
EXTRICATION  WAS  UNDERWAY .
BOTH  UNITS  ARRIVED  ON  THE  SCENE  TO  FIND  A  SINGLE  CAR  MVA ,
1992  CHEVY  CAVALIER  VERSUS TREES , WITH  ENTRAPMENT .
RESCUE  1  AND  ENGINE  11  RESPONDED

At approximately 3:30 p.m. units were dispatched to assist Georgetown Township Fire
Department on a large brush fire in the 2900 block of Edwardsville Galena Road. Units arrived
on scene to find approximately 4 ½ acres on fire. Greenville Township Fire Department was
then dispatched for manpower. Units cut a fire line around the fire to contain it. Units then
mopped up hot spots and extinguished all spot fires. Lafayette units that responded were
Engine 11, Brush 15 and EMA Rhino 1, Brush 16, Command 1101, and Command 1102. The fire
consumed approximately 5 acres before it was extinguished. All units were available at

Units then left the scene and responded to a motorcycle
accident, motorcycle verses deer in the 3200 block of Old
Hill Road at approximately 9:20pm.

At approximately 4:00 p.m. unit Squad 1 was dispatched to assist Yellow EMS in the 6000 block
of St. Mary’s Road on a female subject bleeding. New Chapel units were lapped in Lafayette
Township for coverage.
At approximately 8:17 p.m. units were dispatched to 6600 Block of Atkins Road on a Four-
wheeler Accident. Command 1103 arrived on scene to find one teenage male patient with torso
trauma and a four-wheeler that appeared to have been overturned. Rescue and Command 1101
simultaneously arrived on the scene moments later Command 1102, after further investigation
units found another teenage male patient complaining of injuries. Due to the trauma recognized
and anticipated Stat Care Air Ambulance was called in for transport. Stat Care arrived on scene
and transported one teenage male patient to University of Louisville Trauma Center. Units on
scene assisted Yellow EMS in treatment of both patients and Yellow EMS transported the
second teenage patient to Kosair Children’s Hospital. The accident was under investigation by
Indiana Conservation Officers.
