The 2011 WHAS Crusade for Children proved to be record setting for Lafayette Twp. Fire Protection District (LTFPD). The Citizens of Lafayette Twp. donated $65,674.17 in just about one week, the largest "fire department contributor" in Southern Indiana according to whascrusade.org.
In record heat and humidity the LTFPD firefighters, families and friends stood at road blocks for hours and went door to door to collect the donations. Without this hard work and dedication these donation would not have been collected for the Crusade. Without the citizens, Churches and business donations the children in need would not receive the much need funding for the equipment and other items. Special thanks go to the business in the area and beyond that donated either goods or food.
