| December, 2006 As many of you already know, Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department will become a new entity in 2007. The Fire District of Lafayette will embark on a new and exciting path, and I have chosen this opportunity to do so as well. I have been extremely proud to have served LTVFD as a firefighter (had the time of my life!) Administrator, grant-writer and webmaster. The many friends I have made and lessons I have learned will be treasured always. This website would not have existed were it not for three individuals. Former Fire Chief Mike Banet trusted a gal with no 'techie' education or experience to pull an entire website together. Both Chief Banet and Chief Terry Meek gave me carte blanche with the site and were more than supportive. They have both become great friends. And Nathaniel “Sandman” Biefeld, my son the cyber-wizard, spent many hours helping create and produce the site … and taught me everything I currently know about being a webmaster, which may be negligible, but somehow worked anyway. He was always there when I needed information, advice, or someone to just figure out the mess I had made. To all of those folks in cyber-space who have supported ltvfd.org through letters, e- mail, guestbook entries, links and web awards, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. It has been a wonderful experience. And to my friends going on to the next phase of the Department the best of luck and all good things. Stay safe out there. |
